La Bella Rouge is an Official Chapter of The Red Hat Society™


The Red Hat Society is a "disorganization" for women 50 and better.

The La Bella Rouge chapter was started by Queen Mother Nancy Summers in Kingstowne, Virginia, although its members are from all over Northern Virginia.

Only members of this site may view Member Info.  Members may add articles and upcoming events to the calendar.

 

Our QM writes:

It has come to my attention that some retail stores are contacting Red Hat Chapters soliciting names of their membership.  

One women's clothing store even went so far as to say information was needed for tax purposes.  

Just to let you know this nonsense is happening and that your La Bella Rouge membership list is sacrosanct.

Our Statement of Purpose:

 

The Red Hat Society began as a result of a few women deciding to greet middle age with verve, humor and élan. We believe silliness is the comedy relief of life, and, since we are all in it together, we might as well join red-gloved hands and go for the gusto together.

 

Underneath the frivolity, we share a bond of affection, forged by common life experiences and a genuine enthusiasm for wherever life takes us next.

    La Bella Rouge Chapter, Newsletter Issue 3
     
    On Thursday, April 16, Val and Queen Mother Nancy held a planning meeting during the 9:00 Arthritis Water Exercise Class at Lee District Pool.  We don't waste a minute.   
     
    PURPOSE
     
    The purpose of the meeting was to plan and revisit planned events for the La Bella Rouge membership.  To make events fun and not too much work for any one person, we will all share decision making and share the administrative tasks necessary to accomplish our choices, i.e. telephoning, ticket purchases, transportation, all in the interest of minimizing work and maximizing fun.  You are encouraged to contribute your time and expertise.   I would appreciate your thoughts on our new format and please make suggestion on what you would like to do, don't be shy (are Red Hats ever shy?)    
     
    The new and improved La Bella Rouge website is up and running.  Mary O'Connor our Imperial Web Mistress will post upcoming events and you can communicate with each other.  
     
    We have discovered several outstanding programs for May and June and we would like to know your interest  in attending so we can  get organized  and purchase tickets.  Car pools can be arranged; please call or e-mail Val or me. 

Please show your interest for these events in our new La Bella Rouge Group.  If you did not get an invitation, please email Mary O'Connor, Imperial Web Mistress.

Upcoming Events PDF Print E-mail

QM Nancy and I have been talking about the best way for members to know about upcoming events and to let her and Val know that they are coming. I think that the best way to do this would be to use the facilities of Facebook.  I have set up a private area on there and will be sending out invitations to LBR members. Only LBR members can see this group.  It doesn't show up on Facebook anywhere or in Google searches.

There, you can confirm if you're attending an event or not (or maybe) with just one button click.  You can get a map, discuss the event before or after, share pictures.
